Consultation

Discuss Your Project and Report With a Knowledgeable Person

Consultation provides a one-on-one conversation with a knowledgeable human to discuss your AI initiative, ask questions about your assessment report, and explore concerns that need further explanation.

A written report cannot anticipate every question. You may want to understand why a finding matters, explain an arrangement that was not fully captured in your responses, or discuss what a recommendation could mean for your team.

The conversation focuses on your initiative and the information available—not generic advice about AI.

What You Can Discuss

Questions About Your Initiative

Discuss challenges or uncertainties related to the project you described, including how its objectives, working arrangements, and reported limitations relate to the assessment. Where a question requires technical details or specialist expertise beyond the available information, the discussion can help identify what needs clarification and who on your team may be best placed to provide it.

Findings That Need Further Explanation

Ask why a concern was identified, which responses contributed to it, and what assumptions or uncertainties affect the conclusion. You can also raise findings that appear inconsistent with your understanding of the project. The purpose is to examine the reasoning—not simply repeat the report.

Recommendations in Your Working Context

Explore what a recommended action involves and whether your team already has an arrangement that addresses the concern. The discussion can help distinguish between a need to clarify existing practices, check their effectiveness, or consider a change. Decisions about implementation remain with your organization.

Bring Context That the Report May Not Capture

Questionnaire responses may not convey every relevant detail. A conversation gives you an opportunity to explain nuances, correct misunderstandings, and describe existing measures more clearly.

It is important to distinguish information that was true at the snapshot date from changes made afterward. New developments can inform the discussion, but they do not silently change the original assessment.

If a possible assessment error is identified, it can be raised for review. If the project has since changed, a fresh assessment may be appropriate to reflect its updated condition.

How to Prepare for a Useful Conversation

Before the consultation, consider identifying:

  • The findings or recommendations you want to discuss
  • Any statements you believe may have been misunderstood
  • Existing measures relevant to the concerns raised
  • Changes made since the assessment snapshot
  • Questions you would like to leave the conversation understanding better

You do not need to prepare a detailed technical presentation. Keep explanations focused on the issue, and avoid sharing credentials, personal records, or other sensitive material.

A Clearer Understanding, Not an Independent Verification

Consultation supplements your assessment with human explanation and discussion. It does not, by itself, verify your implementation, certify that controls are effective, or guarantee project outcomes.

The aim is to help you leave with a clearer understanding of the concerns discussed, the limits of the available information, and any matters your team needs to clarify or address.
